WHAT TO EXPECT?
Our time together will be relaxed and easy, tailored to fit whatever feels best for your family. You can imagine our photography sessions as if I am an old college friend meeting your family for the first time. We will chat and laugh and play while I snap away.
WHERE SHOULD WE HAVE OUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
Many families choose to have their photography session at home, where everyone is comfy and everything you might need is in reach. Having your home as a backdrop can be incredibly special, but really any place where your family will feel at ease and connected can be a great location for a photography session. Some families choose to explore somewhere new, and that can also work well if that's something your family enjoys. It's all about feeling comfortable and finding that sweet spot of connection. GET IN TOUCH and let's talk about the perfect location for your family's photography session! I am based in the Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and surrounding NC region and am available to travel.
WHAT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHS WILL OUR GALLERY INCLUDE?
Galleries typically feature candid, un-posed moments because the photographs that artfully capture more than our "look" are often the most treasured many years from now. Your session gallery will be designed for you specifically, so if you'd like more formal, posed photographs, we can certainly do that. We will talk specifically about what you'd like included in your gallery before your photography session.
WHAT TO WEAR?
Your relationship and connection with each other are going to outshine what you are wearing every single time. So please do not stress about "what to wear". That being said, I am happy to offer clothing recommendations and can be as involved or as hands-off in your wardrobe selection as you'd prefer.

OTHER TIPS FOR OUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
If possible, it's best if phones/tablets etc stay tucked away during our photography session. I believe that part of the reason so many families describe our time together as a gift is that we are slowing down and focusing on connection. And because we have fun :)
NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Helping you document this magical time is always an honor. My intention is to help create a nourishing and safe space in order to focus more on your new babe and your beautiful bond, not props or popular poses or themes. We take the time to soothe, diaper, feed, and rest. Newborn experiences vary in length but average about 2.5 hours and typically take place in your home. WHEN SHOULD WE HAVE OUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
I get this question a lot. . . Because newborns tend to be their sleepiest in their earliest days, many photographers recommend something like “between 3-5 days” or “in the 6-10 day range” or “in the first two weeks of life”. But I have seen, again and again, that there is no “right” time. If you want brand new, sleepy newborn photographs, then yes, as early as possible is best. I do many sessions in this timeframe. And I also do just as many photography sessions some time between 2-4 weeks when your family has started settling into the new rhythms and your new babe is waking up to the world. There is no “wrong” time to document this precious time ~ every day welcomes so much growth and beauty. CONTACT ME and we can talk about what timing would be best for your family.
WHERE SHOULD WE HAVE OUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
Newborn photography sessions typically take place in your home, where your little babe is most at ease and where you have everything you need close at hand. That being said, if you have a concept for a newborn photography session in a different location, LET'S TALK.
WHAT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHS WILL OUR GALLERY INCLUDE?
Your newborn gallery will include a variety of images that feature images of your newborn babe and all of her/his sweet little toes, fingers etc as well as a variety of images of you holding, cuddling, soothing, and adoring your new babe.
What to wear?
Newborns showcase so well in their own skin. I usually recommend using a diaper with a diaper cover. We can also include any special baby gowns, hats, blankets etc. For parents and siblings, I typically recommend avoiding any large or bold patterns. Softer colors tend to work well. We can talk in more detail about clothing recommendations but, in general, keeping it simple works well.

SENIOR & TEEN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS
WHAT TO EXPECT?
I have met some of the most amazing young people during senior photography sessions, and I frequently hear how special a teen felt during our session together. Some families combine senior photography sessions with a family photography session; others choose for the photography session to focus solely on their senior. Any combination can work. If you are a senior, I'd love to meet you <3 GET IN TOUCH!
WHERE should we have our photography session?
I really like for seniors/teens to be as involved in making these decisions as they would prefer. Ideally, I like to have a phone chat prior to our session where we talk about their interests and what they’d like to capture in their session. During that phone conversation, we choose a location that fits their personality and interests. Sometimes seniors/teens prefer less involvement, and that’s perfectly fine too.
WHAT TYPES OF PHOTOGRAPHS WILL OUR GALLERY INCLUDE?
Senior/teen photo galleries typically include a mix of more posed photographs with a variety of “looks” and a few candid moments sprinkled in.
What to wear?
Seniors and teens are welcome to make as many wardrobe changes as they’d like. I am happy to consult on clothing choices ~ the number one priority is that they love what they are wearing. GET IN TOUCH and we can talk more about what to consider when choosing outfits.
ADULT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS & OTHER PROJECTS
Session details and pricing for adult, commercial, travel, dance/movement photography, commissioned fine art, and other projects vary depending on your request. Please GET IN TOUCH and we can discuss the best way to structure your session and the accompanying pricing for your project.
PRICING for FAMILY, NEWBORN, & SENIOR/TEEN PHOTOGRAPHY
Collections start at 595 and include digital images and photographic prints. A 200 dollar deposit is collected when you book your session.
